February 26, 1960 – January 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Don Viscount on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s - a loving husband, devoted father, beloved brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.

Predeceased by his parents Philip and Mary Viscount, father-in-law Michael Kelly, sister-in-law Marie Kelly and brother-in-law Wayne McNally.

Left to mourn Don’s passing are his loving wife Della, devoted daughters Dominique and Nicole; brothers and sisters Cecilia (Frank Moore), Phyllis (Kevin Newell), Ann Marie (Tom Weckus), Philip (Gladys), Catherine (Pat Power), Madonna (Harold Barry), Fred (Philomena), Patricia (Stan Griffiths), Keith (Brenda), Lucy (Joe Lake), Rosemary, and Ken (Brenda); mother-in-law Marie Kelly; brothers and sisters-in-law Vincent (Helen), Peggy, Bob (Ellen) and Michelle (John Budden) as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Don worked as an electrician at Memorial University for 33 years until his retirement in 2022.  His love of the outdoors, adventurous nature and innovative thinking had him out on the water, exploring the countryside and helping out wherever he could.

Don’s courage, kindness, reassuring eyes and sweet smile will be forever missed.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia.  Visitation to take place on Saturday January 4th from 6-9 p.m., Sunday January 5th from 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial to take place 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 6th at St. Anne’s Church, Dunville, with interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast, Placentia.

Don’s legacy of kindness and love will forever reside in our hearts.  His memory and spirit will live forever.  May he now rest in peace and live life everlasting.
