November 15, 1939 – November 06, 2024

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Aloysius Patrick Lake of Dunville who passed peacefully away surrounded by his family on November 6, 2024, at the  age of 84.

Predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Margaret Lake (nee Fewer), brothers John (Lorretta), Jerome (Lorretta), Peter (Loretta) and Thomas and sister Madeline. Also, predeceased by parents-in-law, Douglas and Catherine Wadman, and sister-in-law Isabel Roche (Frank).

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Hannah; his devoted daughters Diane (Herb Cheeseman), Jenny (Darren Foley), Yvonne (Paul King), Marion (Rick Traverse) and Holly (Shane Walbourne); and his 9 precious grandchildren: Ryan (Robyn), Alyson (Tyler), Cassandra (Michael), Douglas (Kiana), Maggie (Aaron), Hannah (Nick), Jenna, Jack and Caleb, and his special great grandson Mason, of whom he was extremely proud and loved dearly. Many others mourn his passing, especially his in-laws, Stella Lake, Peter and Lorraine Wadman, Marion and Jack Pearce, Raymond and Sandra Wadman, and a large circle of nieces and nephews and friends.

Aloysius Patrick Lake was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather. He was one of a kind. He loved gathering with friends and family for birthdays, holidays and Sunday dinners. His infectious smile, hardy laugh and canny sense of humor brightened up every room. His love of family, friends and service to God were hallmarks of his character.

Aloysius Patrick Lake, a beacon of kindness and love, will forever reside in our hearts. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. As we grapple with the loss of his physical presence, his memory and spirit will live forever. We are honored to call you husband, dad, and poppy. May you now rest in peace and live life everlasting.

We extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Power and the staff, especially the nurses, at the Placentia Health Care Centre. You cared for Dad, like he was your own father. We appreciate your dedication, care and compassion. We are eternally grateful.

Visitation will take place at Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia, on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 10:00am-9:00pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dunville, on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 12:30pm. Interment to follow at St. Anne's Cemetery.
