After a long road and tough fight, it is with heavy hearts we
announce the passing of Michael John Tobin, age 69, formerly of
Dunville, Placentia Bay.
Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at
Lions Manor Nursing Home, Placentia, on October 27,
2024.
Predeceased by his wife Marguerite; his parents James and
Louise Tobin of Dunville; two sets of grandparents; in-laws John and
Bernadette Mulrooney and brothers-in-law John Mulcahy, Anthony Spurvey
and Stephen Griffin; sister-in-law Rose Mulrooney; and nephew Sean
Mulcahy.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving
and precious daughter Sheila; sisters Dorothy Mulcahy (predeceased by
husband John), Bernadette Snow (Barry), Doreen Bolt (Churchill) and
Theresa (Ray); brothers-in-law Pats (Chris), Dan (Barb), Berk (Kay),
Jackie, Wayne (Tracey) and Tommy (Marilyn); sisters-in-law Loretta,
Meme (Larry), Carm (Ray), Kitty (friend Charlie) and Dorothy
(Darrell); many nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as special
friends Tom Bennett and the Bennett Family.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of
the Beachside Manor, and the staff of the Lions Manor for the
wonderful care given to Mike, also to Wayne Mulrooney for being the
younger brother that he never had. Special thanks to Charmaine
Comerford and Colin Lambe for everything they did for Mike over the
years. Your thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. A very
special thanks to Darlene Young for being such an angel to us all, in
our time of need.
Mike put everyone above himself and loved his family
immensly. He fought for his life until the very end, and if
love could have saved him, he would have lived
forever.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home,
Placentia. Visitation to take place on Tuesday, October 29th from 2pm
to 9pm. Funeral Service to take place on Wednesday, October 30th at
10:30am at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Interment to
follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast
Placentia.
