We are sad to announce the passing of Alex Hartson of Placentia, NL which occurred on October 3rd, 2024 at the Carbonear General Hospital. 

Born in Placentia, NL he was the son of the late Patrick and Ruby Hartson.

Leaving to mourn are his wife of 53 years Gertie, sons Bill (Lori), John (Loriann), Terry, Trevor (Shelly), Grandchildren, Kristin, Savannah, Tanner, Xander. Great granddaughter Miley. His eight sisters Ann (Herb), Margie (Vern), Theresa  (Ferg), Betty (Gerard), Stella (Paddy), Cindy (Leo), Debbie (Matt), Alice (Chuck), a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Alex was predeceased by his sisters Barbara, Phyllis and Madonna, his brothers Patrick and John.

Special thanks to Dr. Farrell and the nursing staff at the Carbonear General Hospital. 

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia.  Visitation to take place on Saturday, October 5th from 2:00pm to 9:00pm.  Funeral Service to be held at Maher's Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6th at 11:00am, followed by interment at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia.
