James "Jimmy" Esau Thoms

Passed peacefully away at the Lions Manor Nursing Home in Placentia on Sunday, September 8, 2024, James "Jimmy" Esau Thoms at the age of 76. 

Upon his passing he was reunited with his loving parents, Esau and Ursula Thoms. 

He leaves to mourn his sisters Trudy (Dr. Jonathan Hetzel) and Agnes; brother William; nephews Jeremy (Emily) Hetzel and Ryan Thoms; great-niece Daphne Hetzel and a circle of other family and cherished friends and neighbours. 

The family wish to express gratitude to Jimmy’s caregivers throughout the years, including the staff at the Lions Manor Nursing Home where he has made his home since 2013. As well, special thanks to Wayne Power Sr., Sandra Power, Wayne Power Jr., Jacinta Traverse and Sheila Beresford for your friendship and support. Your care and compassion provided Jimmy with a life filled with comfort, love and contentment. 

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia.  Visitation to take place on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, September 16, 2024 at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Dunville. Inurnment in the Thoms Family Plot at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Freshwater will follow Mass. Friends are invited to a time of food and fellowship at the Freshwater Community Centre immediately following the burial.
