Passed peacefully away on June 27, 2024, at the age of 72,  Ronald Joseph Ryan, of Placentia, originally of Red Island, Placentia Bay. Predeceased by his mother, Norah (McCarthy) Ryan, his father, Maurice Ryan, and his sister, Laura Ryan Walsh. 

Leaving to mourn his sisters, Patricia, Annemarie, Marg, Ursula, Beth, Sandra, Sharon and Denise and his brothers, Clarence, Larry, Ken and Gordon and all of their spouses, partners and families. Also a large circle of family and friends. 

Ron had lived away for much of his life but he spent his last years back home in his beloved Newfoundland. He was known for his wry sense of humour  and for having a desire to help those in need. He was also very passionate about the injustices in the world and in his own way often tried to make things right. Ron loved music and found great joy in playing his guitar. He was a bit of a philosopher and loved nothing better than sharing his ideas in his pursuit of wisdom and compassion for all.  Forever remembered as the beloved older brother in our large family.

A Celebration of Life will take place from 12pm to 4pm on Wednesday, July 24th at the Star of the Sea in Placentia.
