Passed away peacefully at
Carbonear General Hospital on April 5, 2024, Anne Marie Smith of
Dunville, at the age of 82.
Predeceased by her
parents Patrick & Anna Bruce; sister Patricia Power; brothers
Cecil, Leo, Aloysius, Maxwell, Raymond and Francis; as well as many
beloved in-laws within the Bruce and Smith families.
Leaving to mourn her best
friend and husband of 61 years, John Smith; son Rick; grandson Stephen
Hancock; sisters Helen Griffin (Dave) and Mary Kelly; as well as many
in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close
friends.
Annie was kind,
intelligent, giving and strong. She wore many hats
throughout her life as a teacher, an employee at the Argentia Naval
Base, and above all as a loving housewife and mother. She
enjoyed spending time doing arts and crafts, and volunteering with the
groups she believed in, including the St. Anne's Church, the Dunville
Healthcare Auxiliary and the Dunville Women's Institute, to name a
few. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and community
members.
Funeral arrangements are
entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to
take place on Sunday from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, and Monday from 2:00pm to
4:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take
place at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 9th at St. Anne's Church in
Dunville, with interment to follow at St. Anne's
Cemetery.
