Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre in the
presence of his loving family, Gerald Campbell of Branch, age 86
years. Predeceased by his mother Rosella (Power), father Henry
Campbell and brother Edmund. Gerald leaves to mourn with loving
memories his wife of 42 years Carol (Greene), sons Gregory (Ashley),
Gerard (Annette), four precious grandchildren Jacob, Henry, Liam and
his darling Isla, sister Annie Nash (Denis), his nieces and nephew and
a large circle of relatives and friends.
Gerald was a talented musician and lover of song. He earned
many accolades throughout his lifetime and was a much sought-after
performer. His humour and wit were evident to all who knew him. In
2005 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the NL Folk Arts
Society. On the occasion of his 85th Birthday
he was granted the Senate 150th Anniversary
Medal, a national honour, for his significant cultural
contributions.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher’s Funeral
Home, Placentia. Visitation will take place at Holy Rosary
Church, Branch on Sunday, June 9th followed by
a mass of Christian burial on Monday, June 10th
at 2 pm. Internment to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery,
Branch.
We are grateful for Gerald’s 86 years, we will
remember you our ‘sweet forget me
not’!
